I want to say before anything, how much I am in love with this picture. The emotion you have captured is astonishing, considering you can't really see anything other than the models eyes. I love her gaze, and it makes me intrigued yet sad at the same time. I want to ask her about everything, but am deathly afraid of the answers.

First of all, I'll start this little critique with what I enjoy about the photograph the most. The color is gorgeous, it is such a low toned picture that the magenta/brown/pink? color on her head wrap just pops, but in a non-vibrant way, which I appreciate. The black of her hair contrasts well with it, along with the darkness of her eyes. That being said, I do find myself getting a little to distracted because of the sudden blackness that is her hair, which is overwhelmingly powerful against the rest of this color scheme- and it acts as an anchor.

I also need to say that although I love her eyes beyond belief, I feel like you need to bring them out more. Her face is already hardly visible, and her eyes are dark and shadowed, and I wish I could see them more clearly.

As far as technique goes, this is a gorgeous portrait with a very simple style to it, which I can appreciate and value. At first I felt that it was a little cramped, but I do enjoy how close up the picture is- as it makes me feel like I am standing directly in front of this woman, and connecting on a newer level. The framing is good, though the hair comes a little dangerously close to the edge (though that's not a big deal, I'm just nit-picking).

The shadows and detail within all of the wrinkles of her head dress are fascinating to look at, and I find my eyes constantly weaving across them, each one seeming to hold a story. This picture is deep on many different levels, and I can't help but feel like I know this woman, even though I know I have never seen or even thought of her before.

Overall this is a gorgeous portrait, and I absolutely adore the emotion captured in it. I'm going to go look through your other work- as this picture has captivated me and I can't help but feel the need to see what else you can do <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>
